Welcome 2010! Thank You!

Happy New Year Dear Friends!

I can't beleive that this year has come and gone.  It has been an amazing journey, full of it's ups and downs but we made it.  My husband and I certainly welcom 2010 with open arms.  I would like to personally thank each and every one of you for your support and understanding during our first year.  If it wasn't for you, we wouldn't be where we are today.  {{{HUGS}}}

I would also like to thank a very dear friend, Sandra!  If it wasn't for Sandy and her loving heart and inspiring mind, we wouldn't have accomplished half of what we did this year.  You have kept me going through thick and thin (more thin than anything - LOL).  When I've been down, you've kept me up-beat... and visa-versa.  I love you with all of my heart!

Finally, I wanted to thank my 3 amazing children for putting up with me this year!  I know my daughter Abby will probably read this, so be sure to pass it on to your brother and sister.  You guys ROCK!  I owe you a "baby" Penguins game. (yeah, kiddos are diehard Penguins fans... and Mom's a Flyers Junkie!  It's an interesting mix - Ha!).

I have some inspiration to share with you from a dear friend and loyal fan of The Beary Scrap.  Our own very talented Kim Bender created these adorable projects.  Although I tried to get them posted sooner... it just didn't happen. ( Sorry :( ) Christmas is busy with 3 little ones.  With the youngest being 2 (3 in February), it's not been easy.  Anyway....

This one has to be my personal favorite!  Wouldn't this make a great place setting on your holiday table?  I'm preparing for next year!  This was created using punch art.

Here is another punch art creation made by Kim Bender.  The chocolate has my mouth watering!  I love the little gingerbread man!  Left over cookies... here I come!

And finally, a few cards for you created with punches.  I think Kim used heart puches for the tree.  It is simply adorable.  I love the dimension created with the white chalking.

Kim, thank you so much for the inspiration!

The 8 minute countdown has started!  I must pull my "new years resolution list" and recite it to my friends an family.  If I can conquer at least half of what is on the list, I'll be greatful.

Till next year!  Love you ALL!

HAPPY NEW YEAR!

Our weekend croppers braved the snow!

Hello Friend!

What a weekend we had!  All of our little croppers and our Mom's braved the snow and came out for a morning and afternoon of FUN!  Yep, Sandy hosted 2 sessions.  There is no doubt that we have some budding diehard scrappers in the making.  Oh, and the talent!  Mom's, you certainly do a great job passing on your creativity to your little ones.   I was only able to get one picture from our afternoon group.  Charolette stayed for the morning session even after other things came up with her granddaughter... so she took some pictures for us too.   I can't wait to see them.

Here's our budding scrappers from the afternoon group...

They had so much fun... and Sandy spoiled them silly!

****************************

We were supposed to have only had 2 inches of snow, but I think it was 5 by the time it was all said and done.  Now, it's freezing cold outside!  Spring can't come soon enough.  One snowfall is all I need.

****************************

How about this darling Ribbon Tree Created by Sandy!  This would make a great Teacher's Gift, or a cute centerpiece on a table.

To create the ribbon tree, Sandy used a styrofoam cone and covered it with ribbon. I believe she said each piece of ribbon was 4" in lengh. The ribbon is then looped and tacked in place with a pin. The star she picked up at one of the craft stores. You could make this with paper strips instead of ribbon. What a way to use up some of that paper stash we all have laying around. How about creating them smaller and decorating your place settings on your holiday table.

****************************

Here's a card I finally finished!  I'm still trying find 4 extra hours in a day - LOL.

This card was created using an adorable Bear and Robin Stamp from Stampavie.  The image was colored in with copic (and I'll be darned if I can remember what colors I used - sorry).  I added some Polar White Flower Soft to his Santa Hat and the base of the image.  Makes him look like he's sitting in the snow instead of "floating in space" - LOL.  The sentiment if from Kraftin' Kimmie's Holiday Sentiments.  With 44 sentiments in this set to choose from, it was hard to decide what one to use.  I think this one fit well.

Cardstock is Bazzill, Patterned paper is Basic Grey's Eskimo Kisses (my favorite line!)

Thanks for stopping by!

Hello Fellow Scrappers!

I just finished posting the tutorial for my new Reindeer Pattern.  Click HERE to check it out.  The response to our new pattern has been unbelievable!  Hmmm, I wonder what is next?  Desicions, desicions, desicions - LOL.  There are so many to choose from.  I could really use some help, so feel free to post a comment or email me with your requests.  The most requested patterns will be posted and the winning pattern will be made available! (That is if we have enough participants).  And who knows what might happen after that. {wink}.

If haven't gotten your new pattern order yet, you can do so by clicking HERE.  Don't forget, all orders of $35.00 or more place through our website will receive FREE SHIPPING.  Hey, who doesn't like free shipping.  And no, we don't have that offer available on FeeBay, so you can pick up some extra papers and other goodies while you are there too.

Thanks for dropping by.

New Pattern Now Available!

Hello friends and Happy December!  How many of you were brave enough to head out for Black Friday?  Not me... I stayed in with the kids and then headed to the shop for the day.  It was nice to see a few of our friends out and about.  There were some great deals out there over the weekend, and some awesome deals at the shop and on our website too!  Thanks so much for all of you that made our Christmas Kick-Off a successful one.  You help us pay the rent!  {hugs}

I know I'm a little late getting our new pattern released, but really... what else is new - LOL.  This wasn't the one I had planned on doing, but given the Spirit of Christmas is in the air, I thought a Reindeer was most appropriate.

Isn't he just adorable!  He is designed to have more of a "3D" effect.  You can view the pattern specifics and purchase it HERE. I've used our Caramel and White Mulberry paper to create him.

I have changed up our packaging for this one since he requires a bit more guidance for assembly.  I hope to have some tips posted on the Tear Bear Blog tomorrow.

*******************************

New Arrivals at the Store:

Nook & Pantry by Basic Grey is now stocked at the shop.  I'll have it up on the website in a day or two.  Origins and Sugar Rush are expected to ship Mid December!  Oh, I can't wait.

We are still waiting on our Copic to arrive before we host our first class by own oun "Copic Certified Designer".

*******************************

Attention Mommy & Me Croppers:

We have 2 Mommy & Me sessions scheduled this Saturday, one morning session and one for the afternoon.  Please do not forget to bring your basic supplies, including adhesive.

*******************************

December Classes:

I'm just starting to finish up a few classes for December.  I hope to have some pics posted this weekend.  We will be hosting a Last Minute Card Class, Flower Soft Class, Tear Bear Class, and a Quick Gifts Class.  I've been busy creating the project examples for these classes and I'm running on limited time - as always!  Hey, at lease I got my "new patter" checked off my list - LOL.  I had hoped to have them completed for today, but Black Friday to Cyber Monday was REALLY busy.

*******************************

January Crops:

We have 2 crops already scheduled for January... and they are already begining to fill up.

Saturday, January 2, 2009
Saturday, January 30, 2009

Both are from 5:00pm - 11:00pm.

Pizza, beverages, use of all of our machines and die cuts is included.... and of course, personal guidance and one-on-one assistance from both Sandra and me. {smiles}.

I'll have more to report tomorrow!  Thanks for stopping by.

Digi Stamps now available!

Another late night for me!  When I got home Saturday Night from our crop, I thought for sure I would be ready to crash.  Not quite.  I was so wound up that I was jotting down ideas and doodling images.  My mind just wouldn't slow down.  Boy, I sure wish mother nature would add a few more hours to the day just so I could get a full night's sleep.  28 hours would be nice - LOL.

After figuring out how to start loading our new digital stamps into the website, I got a little scrared that I might crash my entire system.  Pondering the idea for a while, I decided that I would feel safer being walked through the entire process to avoid any delays in ordering and shipping, and crashing the website.  Since I've had a few request for our Christmas Digis, I went ahead and reopend our Etsy Store!  I haven't listed over there in some time... and I like it much better than fee-bay!  I have an abundance of cards and some other embellishments that I've been making over the past few weeks too that I will be loading there as well.

So here are the first 2 digis that are now available...

I also got a little carried away making these twinkling snowflake embellishments!  I made a layered snowflake using some flower soft for a card I created at last nights crop, but after staring at it I decided I didn't like it.  Could have been the colors of the card that turned me off to it.  I'll see if I can use it on something else.  But for this card, I needed something with more sparkle.  I began walking around the shop looking for something that would give it "wow".  Finally, "blink"  the light bulb went on and I grabbed the bottle and began making a HUGE mess in my work area!  I haven't had this much fun in ages!  I had so much fun that I ended up with 2 dozen of them.  Needless to say, there are a few listed in our Etsy Store, and I have a few packs available at the shop too.

Aren't they cool?  I made some cute Christmas Tree embellishments inspired by Prima too, but I didn't get a chance to take any pictures of them yet.

Thanks for stopping by!

Copic Certified!

Hey Everyone!

I'm finally HOME!  Nearly 24 hours in the ole Yukon is for the birds!  But you know, it was soooo worth it, and in so many ways.

I spent 11.5 hours in the car with my dear hubby driving to South Carolina just so I could become a Copic Certified Designer and teach you all so many awesome things that you can do with these markers.  Sure, it was a long haul, but the benefits were above and beyond!

Sally Lynn was amazing.  What an honor to be in company of her talent, and the talent of so many other wonderful women!

Not only did I get to make some new friends, and be in the company of so many talented women, but I finally got an opportunity to meet up with an old friend for the first time!  The pic below is me and my dear friend Ivy, who owns Scrappin' Happily Every After in SC just outsite of Charleston.  We didn't get much time to spend together, but we "gab" on the phone quite a bit.  Hey, us girls gotta keep up with the latest trends is scrapbooking and paper crafting, ya know. {wink}.

I know this won't be our first time meeting up as we are planning on attending CHA in Chicago coming up in July!  OH Yeah, we are taking the hubbies too.

And yes, I was having a VERY bad, flat hair day!  It was raining ALL DAY! Not to mention, it rained all the way home too!

Tuesday will be back to normal... well almost normal!  Black Friday is approaching pretty fast here and I've gotta finish up our class schedule for December.

Thanks for dropping by tonight.  See you all at the shop!

Flower Soft!!!

Hey Everyone.

I'm getting myself ready to leave for SC tomorrow morning.  Oh, the drive!!!  Not looking forward to it at all.  I know class will make it all worth the trip.  I'll have my computer with me, so I'll try to post a little "Hi!" while I am there.

Sandy will be at the store all day Saturday to assist you all with all the NEW goodies that arrived Friday.  As I was posting my last message in excitement... I didn't realize we received a HUGE box from Flower Soft!  OMG, this stuff is COOL!  It's stocked on the shelves already for you.  Sandy will be "playing" with some tomorrow testing it out.  There are samples already on the floor for you to look at.  I'll have it available online as soon as I return from SC.  We've got LOTS of polar white on hand to make "snow" on your stamped images and scrapbook pages too.... and these "snow globes"... they are just too cool.

Eskimo Kisses is stocked and was already finding it's way out the door today.

Stampavie Stamps are in and Kraftin' Kimmie stamps are stocked too.  Oh, these are too cute!  Yeah, I'm taking some to class with me {wink}.

We received a few Martha Stewart border/corner combo punch packs today too.... and we are restocked on page protectors, again.  Of course they won't last long, so don't wait to long.

We did get the new cuttlebug Christmas embossing folders too... they aren't many left, so if you are wanting these, you need to stop by and get your hands on them.  I'm not sure how the "re-order" status on these is looking right now... last I looked, if you didn't order them on pre-order, stores were going to be waiting for them.

December's Cards and Scrapbook Trends Magazines are also in as of today!

Not to mention all the mulberry paper that came today too!  Yeah, we had a very LONG, and busy day Friday... but it was all in fun!

Don't forget, we are CLOSED on Sunday... but we'll be back in operation Tuesday morning as usual.

Have a wonderful weekend everyone!  Thanks for visiting.

Special Orders being taken for Christmas...

Christmas is quickly approaching girls!  It's time to get your "wish lists" together.

The following are just some of the items you may have on your Christmas list (you know, for your dear hubby's to fulfill {wink})

Gypsy for the Cricut Machine - $299.99

Gypsy is a handheld design studio for the Cricut machines. It lets you escape and design anywhere by storing your cartridges and offers a wealth of design features. Comes with an AC power adapter and one stylus. Battery life

- 4 hours continuous, 18 hours intermittently. Also comes with 2 full content cartridges already preloaded; Gypsy Font and Gypsy Wanderings.

Creatopia Machine - $149.99

All-in-one machine for craft, home and school projects. Components change quickly and easily to apply adhesive, emboss or cut craft paper and other thin materials without electricity.
  • Use Refillz to apply even edge-to-edge adhesive on items up to 12" wide and .5" thick; automatically adjusts to accommodate thickness. Also apply edge-to-edge adhesive on fabric and two-sided laminate on documents up to 12" wide.
  • Use Border Patternz Starter Kit & Cartridges to emboss edges along surfaces up to 12" wide
  • Use Full Patternz to emboss designs over an entire surface up to 12" wide.
  • Use Cutz Starter Kit & Blade Cartridges to cut surfaces up to 12.5" wide to size or into strips.
  • Use Shapez Kit to cut shapes and emboss designs into surfaces up to 6.5" wide.

Zutter  Bind it All Machine (in stock) - $74.99

Numbered register marks allow for punching accuracy for projects up to 12.5". Left and right hand application. Weighs under 3 lbs.

Of Course, if it isn't in the store, all you need to do is ASK and we can get in for you.  Remember, or store is small, and these machines take up lots of space.  Most likely, if you are going to order it from "somewhere else", you can wait a few days for it to ship to us - and you don't have to pay those high shipping costs either!  So, why not support your local business and order it from us?  We all know that our local "big box" stores don't carry these!  And, if you find a "great deal", we will do what we can to "match the price you found" (with proof of price).

**************************************************

*50% deposit is required for all pre-orders.  Coupons/rewards cards may not be redeemed on special order items.

I'm so excited!

{hugs to all}

Teddy Bear Card

Oh, I forgot that I have a card to share with you too.  I originally did this card for a challenge, but I can't remember which one - LOL.  Even so, I'm pretty sure I missed the deadline for it.  I didn't add a sentiment because I wasn't sure what I wanted it to say.  Besides, I can't find my sentiment stamps at the moment.

So what do you think of the stamp?  Well, it is a digi stamp.  Do you know from what company?  How about The Beary Scrap.  Yep, I created this one.  How cool is that.  He looks familiar, now doesn't he?  He's gonna need a name so if you have any suggestions, please leave a comment.

Here is another view of the card.  I also finished the inside.

I've got one more for you... although I still need to complete the "card part".

Another Kimm Original!  I stickled this one up pretty good - LOL.

I know what you are all thinking... Could I possibly take on another project?  Some might think I have ADD - LOL. Could be possible, but not likely. I just like to dabble with all things related to paper!  Besides, I have created so many bear patterns and piecings over the years that most of the "hard work" is already behind me.  Since I've been having so much fun coloring, I figured I'd color some of my own "sketches" once I turned them into high quality images for digi stamps.  OH, what fun!

Once I figure out how to work the download system on the website shopping cart, you'll be seeing some Beary Sweet "Digi" Stamps by Kimm showing up :).  I have 2 more in the final stages of "production" right now too. ;)

I hope you like them.

In Coming....

Hi Everyone!

Wow, what a week I have had... make that 2 weeks.  Abby was home sick from school one day last week.  Then Ms. Lindsay took a tumble down 10 steps here at home.  She ended up taking a a trip to the hospital via Dallas Fire & Ambulance (Thanks guys, you did such a great job!  Although it's not like you are all strangers to her - LOL.  For those of you that don't know, my hubby is a member there).  She's doing just fine. No broken bones, or even bruises... just a little goose egg on the head that was gone by the time she got home.  And my poor little man... he started running a fever at school today.  The nurse called for me to pick him up.

Hubby has been sick too.  Although I have no sympathy for him at this point.  We are a week into this already and he won't take anything that might help his symptoms.  I started with symptoms... but I immediately went for the zycam for the next 24 hours!  Why is it that when men get sick, the world comes to a hault... but when we Mommy's get sick, the world MUST keep going?  Getting up with the kids every morning, packing lunches, sending them off to school, cleaning the house, doing the laundry, cooking dinner, and on and on.  And you all know that if we skip a beat, NO ONE picks up the pieces for us.  There is no time to take care of ourselves, but the men... that's a different story.  I don't get it.  Okay, off the soap box - LOL.

There's lots coming up this week!

First - THE MULBERRY PAPER IS COMING!  We've been out of Tan and White... and we are almost out of Caramel.  Mocha has been discontinued, and there are only a few (like 5) packs remaining.  We should be taking delivery next week.

Second - Kimmie from Kraftin Kimmie's Stamps confirmed that our order has shipped on Tuesday.  These adorable stamps will be arriving next week too.  Check them out on our website HERE.

Third - Stampavie Stamps were shipped today.  If you haven't already seen the website to see what's coming in... click HERE to check them out.

Fourth - Eskimo Kisses from Basic Grey is on the way too.  I expect that shipment to be here next week as well.  It's the FULL line, not just the paper packs.  This paper is stunning if you haven't seen it yet!

Fifth - We will be closed Sunday, November 22 so that I can attend a Copic Certification class in South Carolina!  And best of all I get to meet a dear friend of mine for the first time in person!

Sixth - I have been working on some classes and make & take projects for the next few weeks up to Christmas.  I'm focusing on quick gifts, office and teacher gifts, etc.  I have 4 projects complete so far.  I want to get 2 more done.   I will be having 1 or 2 copic classes as soon as I come back.  Oh, and yes, we are getting copic singles in!

That's all I can remember for now.

Okay, well it's off to bed.  I'm exhausted just from typing all that info.

Thanks for stopping by!

Tear Bear Pattern NOW Available!

Hi Everyone!

I'm please to finally announce that I have released our first Tear Bear Pattern

It's about time, right?  This is the last tear bear pattern you will every buy!  It's cut from acrylic which means NO MORE printing, cutting and re-cutting patterns, nor more worn edges on chipboard!  No replacement is needed... unless you happen to misplace a part.  Click on the blog title to visit the product page.

Anyway, I've been working on the "All About The Tear Bear" Blog till the wee hours of the morning.  I'll be working on it again tonight.

I know many of you have been asking when we are going to be restocked on White and Tan Mulberry Paper.  Here is the scoop...  Our order has been in production for several weeks.  Problem is, it has been very rainy in Thailand.  Since the mulberry paper is sun-dried, production has been slow... because there has been no sun.  The last news I have heard is that our order is to be shipping NO LATER than November 11.  If there is any more news to report, I'll be sure to pass it along.  Gosh, I sure hope it gets here soon!!!

Thanks for stopping by!

An New Blog for just TEAR BEARS!!!

Oh MY!!!  Yep, I finally pushed myself to do it.  I just started an new blog for "All things TEAR BEAR!"  Okay, I'll admint it (and most of you already know this)  I am pretty much tear-beared out.  (Not beared out... if you saw my colletion of teddy bears you'd think I was nuts - LOL.)  I'll be honest here for a moment... after 6 years of tear bears, I really need to focus on my artistic side a bit more... it's been feeling neglected lately - LOL.  I realized that the "tear bear" hasn't quite died out yet, even though I've out-grown it, the trend is still growing stronger than every.  So, to try and stream-line my crazy life and the dozens of emails that I answer everyday, I thought it would be useful to have a blog dedicated to "just the bear".  Believe it or not, I'm actually pretty excited about it.

I just finished up the design tonight and added a few quick access links.  I even designed a new blinkie for all of you tear bear lovers to proudly display on your blogs. :)

So, what will you find on this blog?  Anything and everything related to "The Bear", and other Critters of course.  Remember that CD I was working on?  Well, everything from that CD will be posted on the new blog.  I guess you can say this is the very beginning to the first set of patterns will be released in the upcoming days.  I decided that it was easier to provide you with instructions and tips that can be easily accessed, free of charge, without taking up precious space in to our "already too small" scrapping areas.  And it is also a way for me to express my gratitude to all of my loyal customers over the years.

Another great feature this blog will provide is a place for you ask me your questions and have quick access to all things "bear"and critter related.  I have a lot of great ideas for this new blog, so you will want to stay tuned.  Click HERE so that you can bookmark or follow... fun things are coming!  I just hope that I can keep up with both blogs - LOL

You will see posts starting sometime tomorrow since it is almost 2am.  I will announce a release date in the next day or too.  I hope that you will find this new site useful and fun.  I'll have some tear bear blog candy going up too.  I can't believe how excited I am about this again.. this is almost too fun... well not as fun as my Copics, but pretty close {wink}

As always, thank you for stopping by!

Halloween Pics & Goodies

Hi Everyone!  As promised, I'm back with another post tonight.  Wow, 2 for me in one day... now that's impressive.

Before I left the store tonight, I whipped up some quick Halloween Treat Bags for the kiddos in our Trick-or-Treating Group.

These were super simple to create.  First, I cut some cardstock to the width of my baggie. I decided I wanted the front to come over at least 2 inches, so I cut my cardstock 6"x5" knowing that I was going to add a decorative edge.  I used my Martha Stewart decorative edge punch to give the edge some character.  I then trimmed some MME Halloween Paper to fit.  The "words" across the center kind of looks like ribbon... I just trimmed it from the paper.  I designed the "Happy Halloween" tag in Photoshop and printed from my computer (I do this all the time - saves on buying all those stamps, and I can create anything I want).  Next, I cut them out with my circle nesties.  I then cut out some scalloped circles and glued them to the back of my tag.  Finally, I folded them and attached them to my baggy of goodies using some scor-tape.  See, quick and simple... and I should have done these a week ago so that I could have shared them with you sooner. - LOL.

Now for the pics...  The one in the middle isn't mine.  Dougie is on the left dressed as a Star Wars Character (don't ask me who, I have no clue)  Lindsay is my little devil, and she certainly fit the roll tonight.  Abby is on the far right dressed as a Ninja Fighter.  She was the only girl-ninja in school.  Haley, my friends daughter is in the middle dressed as an 80's Pop Diva.

Once it started raining, we called it quits for the night.  We went to visit my baby sister at her Halloween Party.  I told her I was taking her picture and posting it on the blog tonight...

This is Mandy... a 1940's Pin-Up.  I only found it fitting to convert the photos to black and white. - LOL.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to leave me a comment.

Hugs,

"In-store" Product Update!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to take a minute and post really quickly before I leave the store and get the children ready for Trick-or-Treating.

This post is primarily for our "in-store" friends since these products are NOT listed on our website...
  1. 25 count 12"x12" 3-ring page protectors are back in stock and going really FAST!  I know some of you had these on reserve.  Unfortunately, we didn't get our full shipment yesterday so we are handling these on a first-come, first-serve basis.  I'm hoping more will be in next week, but after waiting over 10 weeks to get them back in stock, you just never know.
  2. We also received some more 12"x12" 3-ring albums.  These are moving FAST too.  The following colors remaining in Faux Leather:  Pretty Pink, Kiwi, Country Blue (it's beautiful!), and Burgundy.  The following colors remain in Linen Albums:  Eggplant, Pomegranate, Wedgewook, Avacado and Black.  Those of you that had special orders put in, they are here reserved for you.
November's Class and Crop schedule is in process of getting posted.  Some events are already on our events calendar.  You may want to check it out... there is one I know many of you have been waiting for {wink}.

That's it for now... I'll have a project post later tonight.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

XOXO,
Kimm
