Halloween Pics & Goodies

Hi Everyone!  As promised, I'm back with another post tonight.  Wow, 2 for me in one day... now that's impressive.

Before I left the store tonight, I whipped up some quick Halloween Treat Bags for the kiddos in our Trick-or-Treating Group.

These were super simple to create.  First, I cut some cardstock to the width of my baggie. I decided I wanted the front to come over at least 2 inches, so I cut my cardstock 6"x5" knowing that I was going to add a decorative edge.  I used my Martha Stewart decorative edge punch to give the edge some character.  I then trimmed some MME Halloween Paper to fit.  The "words" across the center kind of looks like ribbon... I just trimmed it from the paper.  I designed the "Happy Halloween" tag in Photoshop and printed from my computer (I do this all the time - saves on buying all those stamps, and I can create anything I want).  Next, I cut them out with my circle nesties.  I then cut out some scalloped circles and glued them to the back of my tag.  Finally, I folded them and attached them to my baggy of goodies using some scor-tape.  See, quick and simple... and I should have done these a week ago so that I could have shared them with you sooner. - LOL.

Now for the pics...  The one in the middle isn't mine.  Dougie is on the left dressed as a Star Wars Character (don't ask me who, I have no clue)  Lindsay is my little devil, and she certainly fit the roll tonight.  Abby is on the far right dressed as a Ninja Fighter.  She was the only girl-ninja in school.  Haley, my friends daughter is in the middle dressed as an 80's Pop Diva.

Once it started raining, we called it quits for the night.  We went to visit my baby sister at her Halloween Party.  I told her I was taking her picture and posting it on the blog tonight...

This is Mandy... a 1940's Pin-Up.  I only found it fitting to convert the photos to black and white. - LOL.

As always, thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to leave me a comment.

Hugs,

"In-store" Product Update!

Hello Friends!

I wanted to take a minute and post really quickly before I leave the store and get the children ready for Trick-or-Treating.

This post is primarily for our "in-store" friends since these products are NOT listed on our website...
  1. 25 count 12"x12" 3-ring page protectors are back in stock and going really FAST!  I know some of you had these on reserve.  Unfortunately, we didn't get our full shipment yesterday so we are handling these on a first-come, first-serve basis.  I'm hoping more will be in next week, but after waiting over 10 weeks to get them back in stock, you just never know.
  2. We also received some more 12"x12" 3-ring albums.  These are moving FAST too.  The following colors remaining in Faux Leather:  Pretty Pink, Kiwi, Country Blue (it's beautiful!), and Burgundy.  The following colors remain in Linen Albums:  Eggplant, Pomegranate, Wedgewook, Avacado and Black.  Those of you that had special orders put in, they are here reserved for you.
November's Class and Crop schedule is in process of getting posted.  Some events are already on our events calendar.  You may want to check it out... there is one I know many of you have been waiting for {wink}.

That's it for now... I'll have a project post later tonight.

As always, thanks for stopping by.

XOXO,
Kimm

Fall Card and MMSC Thank You!

I must tell you, I am having so much fun making cards.  I thought I would take some time and share another one that I recently finished since I had my camera on hand with me today.  This card was created using another digi stamp from CC Designs called Sugarplums Pumkin Emma that I found HERE.  Of course, I have other stamps and digis, but I have really fallen in love with these cuties.

It's simple, but elegant.  I intentionally did not add a sentiment to the front so that anything could go.  Emma was colored in using none other than my copics.  The image was then cut out with my Large Labels Nesties and shaded along the outside.  I used papers from Bo Bunny's Splendor to accent the beautiful fall colors and matted them with coordinating Bazzill Cardstock.  I added a few Primas and some Dew Drops from Robin's Nest.

I cut and layered a few parts with some dimensional adhesive to bring the image to life.

Finally I finished off the inside with a spot to write or stamp a sentiment.

I also would like to thank all of the girls at MMSC that left such lovely comments on my card submission.  It's the first time I've ever entered a card into a challenge and you have all made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  I will admit, I was a bit nervous.  Thank you for making me feel comfortable and welcome!  I'm sure you will be seeing some more from me in the near future.

As always, a "beary" sweet thank you for stopping by.
Feel free to post a comment.

XOXO,

Kimm

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #25

Well, I've decided to take a chance and participate in a Card Sketch Challenge.  I love the Midnight Madness Sketches, and this week's submission was defininately up my alley.  Could be because I've been hooked on circles lately.  I will be submitting this card to MMSC25.  I have to fess up here... I've been playing with my stamps, digi stamps and my copics... I am totally addicted - you have no idea!  I can sit and color for hours.  I have decided that I definitely prefer digital stamps over regular stamps only because I can print them out on my laser printer and take them with me anywhere - and I don't have to wait over a week for my stamps to arrive - talk about instant gratification!  Yes, this small store owner still shops everywhere - LOL.  Part of my mission in supporting other small companies like mine.  Anyway, My first digital stamp was from Mo's Digital Pencil titled "Swine Flu".  I just lover her illustrations!  They have so much character and they are so much fun to color.

Here is my entry for MMSC #25.  This card was created on a 6"x6" card base.  I used bazzill cardstock, both canvas and bling textures.  The image is a digital stamp called Brigitta with Sunflower from CC Designs that I found HERE.  Isn't she just darling?   I just love these images!  Brigitta was colored and shaded with Copic Markers.  I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings.  Papers are from Dream Street that can be found HERE,  I added some pretty Prima Flowers and some Bazzill Ribbon to finish off the card.

I had so much fun creating this card.  Now I have to go figure out how to link and use that Mr. Linky feature - LOL.

Thanks for stopping by... I promise to start posting on a regular basis really soon.

Sneak Peak Listing... OH MY!!!

Hi Everyone!  It's been eons since my last post.  We have been VERY busy to say the least.  There has been a birthday every week, sometimes 2 times a week, since the end of August... and there are still several more right up until Christmas!!!  YIKES! I'm losing control.  My dear hubby's birthday is this weekend.  Not to mention our shop's 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY is this month and I haven't even had a chance to plan anything.  When I have a "great idea", the family pulls the ole "guilt trip" on me.  What's a mother to do?  They aren't used to Mommy working so much from out of the house.

Anyway, since I've been plugging away at bears (only because I'm testing out our really cool patterns that I designed)  There are other "testers" out there in the bear world... so to those of you who are in the "test group", don't forget to let me know how you are making out.  We've got excellent reviews so far - YIPPY!  These aren't like any you've seen before, so I am really excited.  It is my original pattern... just the materials used to make it are not your ordinary materials.  Best of all, you don't have to hand cut it yourself.  For those of you wondering what the hold up is... it is my time... there simply isn't enough of it.  I still need to complete the cd and design the cd cover.  I'm still on hold with the "eyes" tutorial.  Trying to get the right pictures for this isn't exactly easy.... there are over 28 pages of info in the tutorial portion alone!

Anyway, I'm listing some new bears tonight on ebay.  5 days only.  I haven't listed bears on ebay in months, so here is hoping they sell.

I hope you enjoyed the preview.  As always, thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to add your comments as they are always welcome and help give me inspiration to continue create.

Techinque Class Update!

This always seems to be the busiest time of year for me... birthdays, school functions, sports... then of course it all doesn't come to a hault until Xmas.  Do you think I need a vacation???  It's been over 2 years, so I am well overdue!

I have way too much on my plate these days.  Tear Bear CD, mailing list update, family pulling you in all directions, kids, store, website... It's way too much to handle, especially this time of year.  If I could only find the time to concentrate on ONE thing and complete it... OH, I'd be such a happy girl!  Okay - enough whining!

Anyway, I don't have much time before I have to pick up Ms. Lindsay from Nursery School.  I wanted to take a moment and thank Sue for putting on such a wonderful class last night.  The techniques she taught were super and the girls really learned a lot.  We had 6 sign up and only 3 actually attend... I hope you all didn't forget.

Sue and I have tentatively set a date for November's Technique Class... I'll be double checking my calendar today and hopefully filling in some spots.

Oh, before I forget... this weekend's crop has been postponed due to unforseen circumstances.  If I wasn't able to get you by phone, (I made some calls if I had your number), I hope you get a chance to read this.  A new date for the end of the month will  be posted later tonight.

Thanks for stopping by.  As always, your comments are welcome.
