Fall Card and MMSC Thank You!

I must tell you, I am having so much fun making cards.  I thought I would take some time and share another one that I recently finished since I had my camera on hand with me today.  This card was created using another digi stamp from CC Designs called Sugarplums Pumkin Emma that I found HERE.  Of course, I have other stamps and digis, but I have really fallen in love with these cuties.

It's simple, but elegant.  I intentionally did not add a sentiment to the front so that anything could go.  Emma was colored in using none other than my copics.  The image was then cut out with my Large Labels Nesties and shaded along the outside.  I used papers from Bo Bunny's Splendor to accent the beautiful fall colors and matted them with coordinating Bazzill Cardstock.  I added a few Primas and some Dew Drops from Robin's Nest.

I cut and layered a few parts with some dimensional adhesive to bring the image to life.

Finally I finished off the inside with a spot to write or stamp a sentiment.

I also would like to thank all of the girls at MMSC that left such lovely comments on my card submission.  It's the first time I've ever entered a card into a challenge and you have all made me feel all warm and fuzzy inside.  I will admit, I was a bit nervous.  Thank you for making me feel comfortable and welcome!  I'm sure you will be seeing some more from me in the near future.

As always, a "beary" sweet thank you for stopping by.
Feel free to post a comment.

XOXO,

Kimm

Midnight Madness Sketch Challenge #25

Well, I've decided to take a chance and participate in a Card Sketch Challenge.  I love the Midnight Madness Sketches, and this week's submission was defininately up my alley.  Could be because I've been hooked on circles lately.  I will be submitting this card to MMSC25.  I have to fess up here... I've been playing with my stamps, digi stamps and my copics... I am totally addicted - you have no idea!  I can sit and color for hours.  I have decided that I definitely prefer digital stamps over regular stamps only because I can print them out on my laser printer and take them with me anywhere - and I don't have to wait over a week for my stamps to arrive - talk about instant gratification!  Yes, this small store owner still shops everywhere - LOL.  Part of my mission in supporting other small companies like mine.  Anyway, My first digital stamp was from Mo's Digital Pencil titled "Swine Flu".  I just lover her illustrations!  They have so much character and they are so much fun to color.

Here is my entry for MMSC #25.  This card was created on a 6"x6" card base.  I used bazzill cardstock, both canvas and bling textures.  The image is a digital stamp called Brigitta with Sunflower from CC Designs that I found HERE.  Isn't she just darling?   I just love these images!  Brigitta was colored and shaded with Copic Markers.  I added some Stardust Stickles to her wings.  Papers are from Dream Street that can be found HERE,  I added some pretty Prima Flowers and some Bazzill Ribbon to finish off the card.

I had so much fun creating this card.  Now I have to go figure out how to link and use that Mr. Linky feature - LOL.

Thanks for stopping by... I promise to start posting on a regular basis really soon.

Sneak Peak Listing... OH MY!!!

Hi Everyone!  It's been eons since my last post.  We have been VERY busy to say the least.  There has been a birthday every week, sometimes 2 times a week, since the end of August... and there are still several more right up until Christmas!!!  YIKES! I'm losing control.  My dear hubby's birthday is this weekend.  Not to mention our shop's 1 YEAR ANNIVERSARY is this month and I haven't even had a chance to plan anything.  When I have a "great idea", the family pulls the ole "guilt trip" on me.  What's a mother to do?  They aren't used to Mommy working so much from out of the house.

Anyway, since I've been plugging away at bears (only because I'm testing out our really cool patterns that I designed)  There are other "testers" out there in the bear world... so to those of you who are in the "test group", don't forget to let me know how you are making out.  We've got excellent reviews so far - YIPPY!  These aren't like any you've seen before, so I am really excited.  It is my original pattern... just the materials used to make it are not your ordinary materials.  Best of all, you don't have to hand cut it yourself.  For those of you wondering what the hold up is... it is my time... there simply isn't enough of it.  I still need to complete the cd and design the cd cover.  I'm still on hold with the "eyes" tutorial.  Trying to get the right pictures for this isn't exactly easy.... there are over 28 pages of info in the tutorial portion alone!

Anyway, I'm listing some new bears tonight on ebay.  5 days only.  I haven't listed bears on ebay in months, so here is hoping they sell.

I hope you enjoyed the preview.  As always, thanks for stopping by.  Feel free to add your comments as they are always welcome and help give me inspiration to continue create.

(((HUGS)))

Techinque Class Update!

This always seems to be the busiest time of year for me... birthdays, school functions, sports... then of course it all doesn't come to a hault until Xmas.  Do you think I need a vacation???  It's been over 2 years, so I am well overdue!

I have way too much on my plate these days.  Tear Bear CD, mailing list update, family pulling you in all directions, kids, store, website... It's way too much to handle, especially this time of year.  If I could only find the time to concentrate on ONE thing and complete it... OH, I'd be such a happy girl!  Okay - enough whining!

Anyway, I don't have much time before I have to pick up Ms. Lindsay from Nursery School.  I wanted to take a moment and thank Sue for putting on such a wonderful class last night.  The techniques she taught were super and the girls really learned a lot.  We had 6 sign up and only 3 actually attend... I hope you all didn't forget.

Sue and I have tentatively set a date for November's Technique Class... I'll be double checking my calendar today and hopefully filling in some spots.

Oh, before I forget... this weekend's crop has been postponed due to unforseen circumstances.  If I wasn't able to get you by phone, (I made some calls if I had your number), I hope you get a chance to read this.  A new date for the end of the month will  be posted later tonight.

Thanks for stopping by.  As always, your comments are welcome.

Bo Bunny Sketch Challenge!

Good Afternoon dear friends!  I thought I would post a picture of the layout that I was working on last night at the crop.

This layout was inspired by the 2 page sketch challenge up on BoBunny's Blog.  You don't see 2 page sketches too often, so I had to take the opportunity to participate!  I just love BoBunny, and their creative team of designers.

I apologize for the color and clarity in this photo... the battery in my camera is about to give out, so the picture quality is terrible.  I think you get the idea.

These pictures were so fun and bright that "Popsicle" worked perfectly.  With so much color and action going on, I felt that "LESS" was "MORE" for this design.  I'm not sure that I will leave the journalling where it is... I only attached it with temporary adhesive.  Can you tell I'm "all about the circles" lately.  I'm still scrappin' with them.

That's it for now!  Thanks for stopping by.

"Mommy and Me" Crop - October 17

As promised, here is a picture of the designer layout created by Sandra that will be created by our "Mommy & Me" Croppers.

Our class is now full... but if you are still interested, you may still call the store to be placed on our "waiting list" in the event of a cancellation.

We had a great time at the crop tonight!  Some of our highlights:  Cheryl complete the most pages, again and Theresa listed the most words that you could make out of the word "scrapbook".

Our area's Professional Photographer and Graphic Designer, owner of Simply J Designs ,was in to crop tonight.  Jackie was one of our first croppers when we opened our doors.  I know how busy she has been with portraits, so it was so nice to see her scrappin' this evening.  Jackie shared some great tips on digital photo enhancement and mentioned some great sites to shop for digital scrapbook downloads.  (I'm trying to get her to teach a digital scrapbooking class {wink} for us {waving to Jackie}.)  I must admit, I am now a fan of Sweet Shoppe Designs!  OMG, you've got to check out these amazing digital scapbook designers!  I gotta have the halloween and fall kits!  You can visit Jackie's website and blog by clicking her logo on the left.  Her photography is "simply" AMAZING!

Looks like Friday night crops are a go starting mid October.  We have more than enough people interested.  We will continue to host our Saturday Night Crops... 2 times a month. I'll be updating our schedule later this weekend.

That is all for this evening.
Thanks for visiting.

Mailing List sign up, and other tid bits...

First, I finally got our mailing list sign up form done and added it to the website.  Our email marketing solution is through iContact.  I'll tell ya, I *thought* I was computer savvy... but it took me hours to get it all figured out.  I'm sure I'll be tweeking it a bit.  You can sign up HERE to receive our emails.  I'll be sending out promotional codes, sales events info, coupons, tips, project ideas, you know the routine.  Of course, most of the promo codes and coupons will be exclusive to our mailing list subscribers, so you won't want to miss out on some great savings.  Don't worry, I won't flood your inbox with junk!  I promise.  I can bearly keep up with this blog, or even find the time to play with paper.  I DO hope to send out an email once a week... but I expect it will be more like every other week to start- just being honest... we know my time is consumed :).  I added a special feature so that I can filter our online shoppers and our local store shoppers... I doubt any of our customers in Canada or California would want to come in for a crop or class... but then again, you never know.

Second... Our October Mommy & Me Crop is almost filled.  The layout Sandra created for this event is simply adorable!  Call the store and reserve your spot soon.  I'll post a picture of the project tomorrow... my camera wasn't charged tonight to take a pic for you.

Third... FINALLY got some new 3-ring Albums in stock. Not all of them, but we have a good color selection back. After being on back order for so long, I am VERY thankful some of them arrived.  I'm still waiting on page protector (over 6 weeks waiting!)  I'll post as soon as we get them.

Finally, our 1 year anniversary is fast approaching.  We officially opened our doors in October 2008!  I can't believe a year has gone by already!  WOW!  October is going to be full of fun surprises... and of course some great sales!  Find out what's going on by joining the mailing list.

That's it for tonight.  As always, thank you "beary" much for swinging by.

OH, I forgot to add... Copic Sketch Stamp Markers in!  Earth Tones & Pastels have arrived... Brights are on the way.  There are 12 markers per set.  I'll be playing with them this weekend at the Crop and I'll have them listed on the site too.  That reminds me that I have to post some cards I made too... I can sit and color with the kids ALL NIGHT!  Individuals sketch markers are on order, however I do not have an arrival date yet.
